#LYRICReviews: Top 5 Country Singles Out This Week

This past week has seen us country fans being treated to some great new music from the likes of Shania Twain, Danielle Bradbery, and more. And here we bring you reviews of the top 5 single releases this week.

1: Say All You Want For Christmas – Nick Jonas ft Shania Twain

I didn’t think I could love Christmas more than I already do but then two of my favourite artists came together to create the ultimate holiday classic. ‘Say All You Want For Christmas’ sees pop superstar Nick Jonas teaming up with country music legend Shania Twain, and the result is a feelgood instant hit that makes you feel all warm inside. The track is written by Jonas, and the added vocals of Twain make this is a standout among the Christmas hits from time gone by. It’s sentimental, festive, romantic and their vocal harmonies are insane. It is now my new favourite Christmas song and after one listen I’m sure it will be yours too.

2: Danielle Bradbery – Worth It

Danielle Bradbery is one of the hottest country acts on the scene at the moment and with the release of her sophomore album ‘I Don’t Believe We’ve Met’ just around the corner she has been dropping tracks right and centre as the anticipation builds. The newest single to be lifted off the LP is the utterly divine ‘Worth It’. It’s a female strong power ballad that the likes of Shania Twain would be proud of. Bradbery’s vocals are stunning and the feminist lyrics make it a favourite among young women all over the world. Danielle is definitely a world superstar in the making.

3: Keith Urban – Female

Country superstar Keith Urban has released the ultimate celebratory track for women all over the world. This stunning empowering song pays homage to all the girls and women across the land and calls for the respect they deserve. It’s amazing to see a man singing about empowering women especially in these current times. Urban has not only delivered a classic country track with ‘Female’ but also a feminist anthem for every mother, wife, daughter, auntie, and sister, in the world.

4: CB30 – Cool If You Wanna

It’s hard to believe to believe that CB30 consist of a 16 and 13-year-old. Their vocals, and lyrics are incredibly wise beyond their young ages and they sing with a maturity that many older stars lack. ‘Cool If You Wanna’ is a great country/pop track which is very radio friendly. These boys have a very bright future ahead of them as they are young and cute enough to appeal to little kids across the globe and also to the older country fans around the world. ‘Cool If You Wanna’ has all the ingredients needed to be a huge crossover hit and with its country vibes it has mass appeal. It’s a really great track and will no doubt do well across multiple charts.

5: Glasville – One Time Thing

Glasville are a Glasgow based country/rock band and with the release of their debut single ‘One Time Thing’ they bring themselves to the attention of the world. Their harmonies are gorgeous and the production on the track is solid and smooth, although to me it has more of a pop edge rather than rock, but overall it’s a really great song with a toe-tapping beat and catchy lyrics. It should do well on the indie charts and in time Glasville could be the name on everyone’s lips.
